There are numerous karmic correction remedies being propagated online and elsewhere. Some remedies are generic remedies and some specific to cater to an individual’s needs. It is also observed a good percentage of remedies practiced do not yield any tangible result leading to frustration and disbelief in the science of Jyotish.
One has to understand that the science of Vedic Jyotish rests on two infallible pillars of the law of karma and of reincarnation. Our planetary dispositions indicate karma carried over past several life times and can show the road map for the future progression of the soul. Karma as we know can be broadly classified into three categories, Sanchit, Prarabdh and Kriyaman. Sanchit karmas are our karmic bank balance over the last numerous lifetimes since our soul had started the journey which is indicated by the fifth house of the horoscope. Prarabdh karma is the portion of the Sanchit Karma which will fructify in this current life time, indicated by the sixth house of the horoscope. Kriyaman karmas are the ongoing karmas in the current life time which is being added to your Sanchit karmic bank balance and also the karmas you will be performing in future in this current life time. This is indicated by the tenth house of the horoscope ruled by the natural karmakaraka Saturn.
Let’s say an individual is born with afflicted Mars in this life time. He may have afflicted Mars in his past several lifetimes due to negative karmas generated towards his brothers/blood relatives or may have indulged in unwarranted violence/bloodshed.In this life current lifetime to correct his afflicted Mars he may perform positive karma/remedies to correct his Mars which will be added to his Sanchit but how can we predict that he will get he benefits of his karmic corrections in this lifetime or subsequent life times. One thing is certain law of karma is infallible, we reap what we sow.
Planets (Grahas) indicate the sthool rup of our karmic dispositions. The Nakshatras indicate the shuksma rup(subtle) or spiritual nature of our karmic dispositions. To understand our karmic disposition we have to study the placement of our planets in the nakshatramsha chart or the navamsha chart which is one of the keys to practicing remedies yielding tangible results. Planets which have gone to the fixed navamshas ( 2,5,8 and 11) indicate karmic disposition of the planet is pretty fixed/deep rooted and well entrenched in the Sanchit karma balance. No matter the quantum of remedies we do in this life time relating to that particular planet it will not yield any tangible results in this current lifetime. It would be like trying to empty an ocean with a spoon. Planets which have gone to the char (moveable) navamshas i.e 1,4,7 and 10 yield quick tangible results in this lifetime. Planets which have gone to dual navamshas i.e 3,6,9 and 12 will give mixed results in this lifetime itself.
Nonetheless one should keep doing remedies and keep generating positive karma till we qualify to get out of this cycle of birth and rebirth.Even if we do not observe any tangible results to whatever practice /remedies we are performing,it is imperative to understand that it is getting accumulated in our bank of Sanchit karma. The fructification of our prarabdh karmas in this life will be mostly decided by the planets gone to the moveable and partly dual navamshas.
